ℹ️ This policy explains how EU VAT Calculator collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our free VAT reverse charge calculator. We are committed to transparency and full compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1 Who We Are

EU VAT Calculator ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at vatreverse.eu (the "Site"). We provide a free, static web tool that helps businesses determine whether VAT reverse charge applies to cross-border B2B services within the European Union.

We are the data controller for any personal data processed through this Site. If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your data, please see the Contact section below.

2 Data We Collect

What we do NOT collect

✅ We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials. We do not require registration. Our VAT calculator runs entirely in your browser — the country selections and invoice amounts you enter are never sent to our servers.

What we do collect (via third-party services)

  • Usage data — pages visited, time spent, referral source, browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and approximate geographic location (country/city) via Google Analytics.
  • IP address — collected briefly for analytics and ad serving. Google Analytics anonymises IP addresses before storage.
  • Ad interaction data — which ads are shown, clicked, or viewed, via Google AdSense.
  • Cookie identifiers — unique identifiers stored in cookies to recognise returning visitors (see Cookies section).

3 Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our Site. Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data including pages viewed, session duration, traffic sources, and device type.

Privacy safeguards we have enabled

  • IP anonymisation — the last octet of your IP address is masked before storage
  • Data retention set to 14 months — the minimum available in GA4
  • No user-ID tracking — we do not link analytics data to any personal profile
  • Consent mode v2 enabled — analytics only fires after cookie consent is granted
⚠️ Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC and may be transferred to the United States. Google participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. See Google's Privacy Policy and Analytics data practices.

You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4 Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense, an advertising service by Google LLC, to display advertisements on this Site. AdSense allows us to keep the calculator free for everyone.

Google AdSense may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads relevant to you based on your browsing history across other websites (interest-based advertising).

What AdSense collects

  • Your approximate location (country / region)
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Browsing behaviour across websites using Google advertising (if you have not opted out)
  • Ad clicks and conversions
ℹ️ You can control interest-based ads via Google Ad Settings, or opt out of personalised advertising at YourOnlineChoices.eu.

We do not have access to the data Google AdSense collects about you. Google acts as an independent data controller for advertising data. See How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites.
